Joseph & Cindy

Our story began on a night out, thanks to a friend of a friend who convinced Joseph to go bar hopping. Neither of them was even supposed to go out that night, but fate clearly had other plans.

The moment Joseph walked into the bar, Cindy turned to her friends and said, “Ahí entró mi futuro esposo” (“There goes my future husband”). At the time, it was just a playful remark, but little did she know, she was right.

We only spoke for about 30 minutes that night. Just long enough to trade numbers before Joseph moved on to the next bar. Over the following days, their conversations grew longer, funnier, and more meaningful until they finally decided to meet up again in person.

That second meeting sealed the deal. Cindy discovered Joseph was even better in person than over text, and Joseph knew he had found someone truly special. The rest, as they say, is history.

For Cindy’s birthday, Joseph planned a special trip to Turks & Caicos. By this point, they had been together for just over a year. They had already gone ring shopping and talked about marriage, so the groundwork was set — now it was just up to Joseph to find the perfect moment to surprise her.

As luck would have it, the ring had arrived only a week before the trip. The few people Joseph confided in all told him the same thing: “You have to do it in Turks.”

On the resort’s White Linen Night, the weather forecast showed it would be the only clear evening for a sunset that week. Knowing how much Cindy loves sunsets, Joseph decided this was it. Just steps from their room, on a quiet stretch of beach, they set up a tripod and spent about half an hour taking photos together as the sun dropped lower and lower.

Then, with the sky glowing and the waves gently rolling in, Joseph pulled out the ring, dropped to one knee, and asked Cindy to marry him. She was completely surprised — and, of course, she said yes.

Day after the Wedding
